Les Fleurs du mal

(The Flowers of Evil)

Loosely based around the book by Charles Baudelaire, I decided to create a series of illustrations featuring poisonous flowers.

 

It was a lovely project, combining dancing nymph like figures with the flowers but keeping the overall style of illustration very simple (ish!) and graphic. I could have carried on to create even more, and I may well do this in the future.

 

Flowers do feature a lot in my artwork but usually to depict some form of symbolism to the narrative, but here they are the star of the show.
