Jeanne d'Arc

(Also known as Joan of Arc) is another figure from history to grace my series of goddesses. In my opinion, the bravery and determination of her spirit, is a complete inspiration.

This illustration was created specifically for a shutter style frame to form a typical 'icon' style piece of artwork (please see the 'Other' section on the menu to the left).

Joan is surrounded by her lilies (symbolising France and her purity) and the dove (a symbol of god) flies above her. She clutches her sword to her heart wearing her devotional ring. The white of her eyes are showing whilst she has a spiritual vision. The original illustration of Joan can be seen in the 'Drawings' section to the left.

This spot coloured version was created for the Zine 'The Nottingham Horror Collective, for their 'Justice' themed edition.
