The Doorway to Heaven

I am a lunatic and I freely admit it. I love the Moon and all the stories and magic that surround it. Selene was the Greek goddess of the moon who was worshipped at the new and full phases. She is strongly associated with feminine energy and cycles and is another important wiccan goddess.

Here she represents all the phases whilst performing a dance with her starry-clad veil.

Here I evolved the illustrations I created into another piece entitled 'The Doorway to Heaven'. Each moon phase is encapsulated in an atomic style orb and suspended on the door. This itself has been embellished with Howlite, Moonstone and Selenite crystals; all that are associated with the Moon.

At the bottom of the door features the Greek Orphic Hymn to Selene.
